Men's Tennis Sweeps Coastal and UNCC

Doubles team of Clouston and Munoz run winning streak to eight.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Wake Forest improved its overall record to above .500 for the first time this season by sweeping a doubleheader match from Coastal Carolina and UNC Charlotte. Wake defeated Coastal by a final score of 7-0 and then proceeded to knock off UNCC, 5-2. The Deacons' overall record is now 6-5.

The Deacons' doubles team of Myles Clouston and Raul Munoz improved their consecutive match win streak to eight with a 8-0 victory over Coastal's team of Alex Odic and Jackub Crzeslo. Despite dropping the first set at No. 1 singles, Clouston rallied to down Odic, 5-7, 6-4 and 6-2.

Freshman Rick Phillipp won his first collegiate dual tennis match with a straight set victory over Arlon Day of Coastal Carolina, 6-1 and 6-0.

The Deacons will next participate in the Blue-Gray Classic beginning March 18. The tournament will be held in Montgomery, AL.
