Decons Drop Third Straight

Men's tennis fall to 6-8 on the season.

MONTGOMERY, AL - Wake Forest lost its third straight match of the Blue-Gray Classic on Saturday afternoon, this time to Middle Tennessee State, 4-2. The Deacons are winless since defeating UNC Charlotte on March 12.

The Deacons overall record now stands at 6-8. Senior Myles Clouston was one of two Deacons to pick up victories in singles competition. Clouston defeated Matt Walker, 6-3 and 6-2, at the No. 1 flight position. Also picking up a win for Wake was Brett Mauro. Mauro won his match with Oliver Foreman at No. 5 singles in straight sets, 7-6 (5) and 7-6 (3).

Clouston and doubles partner Raul Munoz were upset by the unranked team of Michael Chamberlain and Mehoi Balbacha, 8-2. After winning their first nine matches to start the dual match season, the 14th ranked duo has dropped two of their last three.

The Deacons will play host to Furman on Tuesday, March 23. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. in Leighton Stadium.
