Men's Tennis Nipped by No. 24 Clemson
Deacons fall for the first time at home.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest's bid to upset No. 24 Clemson
(17-8, 4-0 ACC) came up one match short as the Tigers held on for a 4-3
victory at Leighton Stadium on Thursday afternoon. It was Wake Forest's
(11-11, 3-3 ACC) first home loss of the season after winning nine in a row.
The Deacons won the doubles point by sweeping all three matches
from the Tigers. Wake's 14th ranked duo of Myles Clouston and Raul Munoz
defeated Pablo Bellagamba and Josh Goffi at No. 1 doubles, 8-5. Also
claiming victories for the second straight day in doubles were the teams of
Michael Berger and Justin Kaufman, and the team of Andres Guzman and Johan
Hansen.
Clouston won his 21st singles match of the season by defeating Ryan
Bauer at No. 1 singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. Clouston is 5-1 in ACC
play this season. Also winning in singles competition was Hansen. He
knocked 92nd ranked Tom Boniecki in three sets, 6-3, 2-6 and 7-5.
Wake Forest will return to competition on Saturday, April 10. The
Deacons will take on NC State in Raleigh. The match is scheduled for a 12
noon start.
