Women's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Tie With South Carolina

COLUMBIA, SC - Wake Forest and South Carolina played to a 1-1 draw on Friday night at Eugene Stone Stadium. The Demon Deacons and the Gamecocks are now both 1-0-1 on the season.
Wake Forest took a 1-0 lead in the second half at the 67:43 mark when freshman Stacy Roeck scored off a deep shot.
South Carolina tied the match with under a minute remaining when freshman Lydia Bienias scored off a rebound at the 89:26 mark. The two teams then played 30 minutes of overtime with no scoring.
Freshman Erin Regan played all 120 minutes in goal for the Deacs, making four saves on the evening. South Carolina outshot Wake Forest 22-16 in the game.
Wake Forest returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 12 when the Demon Deacons travel to Portland, Ore., for a two-day tournament versus Oregon and Portland.
