Volleyball Victorious in Home Finale

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest (20-10) won its final home match of the season by defeating the College of Charleston (9-20), 3-0 at Reynolds Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon. The victory marked only the seventh time that the Deacons' have won 20 matches in a season during its 19-year history and the first since the program's renewal in 1996.

Wake Forest forced the Cougars into 21 errors and a hitting percentage of .072. The Deacons compiled 63 kills on the afternoon compared to CofC's 30. Senior Christy Kelley record 15 kills in her final match in Reynolds Gym, while fellow senior Kelley McCaffrey finished with a career-highs in both kills and digs, six in each category.

The Deacons return to ACC action on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Wake Forest will take on Maryland in College Park beginning at 5 p.m. The Deacons currently have a one-half game lead over the Terrapins for sixth place in the ACC.
